Originally, the purpose of visual effects was to make the “unbelievable believable.” It was a very hidden part of filmmaking, and rightfully so; they didn't want you to know they were there! But as the industry has evolved, so has the exposure and popularity grown around pulling back the curtain, working behind-the-scenes and letting the audience see “how the soup is made.”
Games, film and television are some of the fastest growing and forward-thinking industries right now, with cities like Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal becoming more and more of a hub for post-production on large-scale film and television projects.
